Spectators: 6764 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1764, VIP seats: 0) After a defensive mix-up in Newburyport FC's zone, Blake Oakley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nathaniel Broussard came out of the goal and Blake Oakley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Richie French kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. In the 9th minute, Kasey Blake got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kasey Blake sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 16 minutes into the match, Newburyport FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kasey Blake came free, but Nathaniel Broussard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute, Richie French got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 24th minute, Scot Pope got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Kasey Blake had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 32 played minutes Newburyport FC got a freekick which was hit by Richie French. Ricardo Shannon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Richie French, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Ricardo Shannon came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Newburyport FC's Scot Pope. But to his dismay, Scot Pope quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Berry Vaughan hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Richie French made a kick off. In the 55th match minute, SL FIRES was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Craig Pereira to maneuver through the defense. Ricardo Shannon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leroy Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to SL FIRES getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Ken Forrest hit a great ball. In the 76th minute Blake Oakley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nathaniel Broussard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SL FIRES's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sanford Pierce in the 78th minute. Sanford Pierce made a great header on SL FIRES's corner, it was just that Newburyport FC's Nathaniel Broussard managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 83rd minute, Kasey Blake ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nathaniel Broussard was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. After having played for 88 minutes, Leroy Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newburyport FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leroy Andrade was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Scot Pope had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 96 minutes of play, SL FIRES's Blake Oakley made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nathaniel Broussard was left in no man's land by his defense there!
