Jermaine Woodward charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jermaine Woodward the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 7 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Wellford AFC! When the match had been going on for 9 minutes, FC Chicago's Darell Haskins got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Freddy Proctor. In the 11th minute, Eric Levy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Raul Bravo came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Wellford AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raul Bravo couldn't finish the play. 26 minutes into the match, FC Chicago's Bronson Underwood sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Freddy Proctor narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of FC Chicago booed when Wellford AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raul Bravo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Raul Bravo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dalton Massey having to interfere. After 36 minutes, Lonnie Kauffman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Chicago and the Wellford AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lonnie Kauffman kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. After having played for 37 minutes, Eric Levy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wellford AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eric Levy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Raul Bravo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dalton Massey having to interfere. Wellford AFC's Freddy Proctor proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Wellford AFC from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Donovan Mann during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 46th match minute, FC Chicago was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donovan Mann to maneuver through the defense. After 46 played minutes, Wellford AFC's Jermaine Woodward shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dalton Massey came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Wellford AFC reached it.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eric Levy stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bryan Powers hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. 56 minutes into the match, Wellford AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Carlo Ray came free, but Freddy Proctor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bronson Underwood sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Freddy Proctor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bronson Underwood in the 76th minute of play. If Eric Levy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Donovan Mann was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 80 minutes had been played. Raul Bravo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The FC Chicago players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
