Donovan Mann kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Warren Crenshaw in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dalton Massey prevented the ball from getting in the gole. FC Chicago's Dalton Massey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Warren Crenshaw in the 44th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Warren Crenshaw to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Carlo Ray managed to get in a good position for a shot. Byron Chen was left in no man's land by his defense there! Byron Chen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Grady Larkin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 84th minute Carlo Ray shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Byron Chen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stark FC's Warren Crenshaw got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Byron Chen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bronson Underwood in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Carlo Ray ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Byron Chen was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. The FC Chicago support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
