After 23 played minutes Atletico Nacional got a freekick which was hit by Ramiro Boudreaux. 25 minutes into the match, Atletico Nacional's goal looked a bit too open when Kory Comer came free, but Ben Cabrera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Margate booed when Atletico Nacional was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Woody Reyna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Phillip Meza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Kory Comer made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ramiro Boudreaux got free with DeAndre Ramsey in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Margate's DeAndre Ramsey got control of the ball when Phillip Meza tried to sneak it across the goal line. Manuel Conner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without DeAndre Ramsey having to interfere. 61 minutes into the match, Atletico Nacional's Phillip Meza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that DeAndre Ramsey narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lyle Hickey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Ben Cabrera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Atletico Nacional getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Markus Duarte hit a great ball. In the 70th minute Kory Comer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ben Cabrera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Atletico Nacional had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
