Darryl Singletary fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Calvin Bowser having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Russell Winter in the 36th minute of play forced Captain America's goalkeeper Hayden Honeycutt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute, Russell Winter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Max Larson came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the North Versailles fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Max Larson couldn't finish the play. In the 47th minute, Max Larson made a precise shot to the right of Hayden Honeycutt. Captain America's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Geoffrey Raymond stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Max Larson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Hayden Honeycutt made a huge save. 55 minutes into the match, North Versailles's Max Larson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hayden Honeycutt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Max Larson in the 75thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Hayden Honeycutt, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Russell Winter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Hayden Honeycutt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Captain America's Hayden Honeycutt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Captain America from getting a goal against them. In the 85th minute, Matthew Stoner fired a really elegant long shot, but Hayden Honeycutt threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Captain America's zone, Max Larson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hayden Honeycutt came out of the goal and Max Larson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 93rd minute, Geoffrey Raymond left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Captain America fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The Captain America fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. North Versailles were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
