The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the Captain America defense, Shelby Ennis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hayden Honeycutt. The Captain America fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hayden Honeycutt should have stopped the shot. After having played for 6 minutes, Felix Woodson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kalamazoo Kazoos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Woodson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ron Guidry charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ron Guidry the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After having played for 12 minutes, Shelby Ennis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kalamazoo Kazoos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Shelby Ennis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Felix Woodson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 14 minutes into the match, Felix Woodson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hayden Honeycutt. Captain America's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felix Woodson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After 20 played minutes Captain America got a freekick which was hit by Darryl Singletary. A collision led to Captain America getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Darryl Singletary hit a great ball. Hayden Honeycutt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Woodson in the 22nd minute of the match. Kalamazoo Kazoos's Ed Delgado couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 26th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Captain America. Colin Beach charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Colin Beach the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Colin Beach hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Hayden Honeycutt came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Kalamazoo Kazoos's Shelby Ennis. But to his dismay, Shelby Ennis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Felix Woodson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felix Woodson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hayden Honeycutt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. In the 38th match minute, Captain America was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ron Guidry to maneuver through the defense. 40 minutes into the match, Captain America's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Woodson came free, but Hayden Honeycutt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Shelby Ennis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 46 minutes, Felix Woodson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kalamazoo Kazoos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Woodson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Captain America players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Kalamazoo Kazoos were winning 0-3.

After a defensive mix-up in Kalamazoo Kazoos's zone, Ron Guidry stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tracy McHugh came out of the goal and Ron Guidry tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Darryl Singletary blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tracy McHugh having to make a save. If Felix Woodson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kalamazoo Kazoos's goalkeeper Tracy McHugh, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hayden Honeycutt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shelby Ennis in the 68th minute of play. If Felix Woodson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ron Guidry kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. The supporters of Captain America booed when Kalamazoo Kazoos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Genaro Meza didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Darryl Singletary had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 89 minutes, Shelby Ennis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kalamazoo Kazoos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Shelby Ennis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 91 minutes into the match, Captain America's goal looked a bit too open when Shelby Ennis came free, but Hayden Honeycutt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Captain America fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Kalamazoo Kazoos were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
