The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Carson Nicholson lost his temper 4 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 3rd minute of the game. One of Captain America:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of ACP United:s goal. Norman Benoit took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hayden Honeycutt. Hayden Honeycutt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Darryl Singletary sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind ACP United's goalkeeper Gustavo Herget, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 20th minute, Colin Beach got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Darryl Singletary managed to get in a good position for a shot. Captain America's supporters rose to their feet, but Darryl Singletary was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gustavo Herget breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Ignacio Sims had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 28 minutes into the game, Brice Dunn was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Captain America's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ACP United the free kick. After a rather tough play, ACP United's Norman Benoit got a free kick in the 37th minute. 39 minutes into the match, Darryl Singletary had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gustavo Herget. ACP United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Darryl Singletary was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. 45 minutes into the match, Captain America's goalkeeper Hayden Honeycutt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Norman Benoit. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wilson Ledford made a kick off. Norman Benoit received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Hayden Honeycutt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 62 minutes into the match, Wilson Ledford notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Captain America's Hayden Honeycutt. Hayden Honeycutt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 72 minutes, Darryl Singletary managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Captain America's supporters crossed their fingers, but Darryl Singletary was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Norman Benoit ran back to his position shaking his head. 82 minutes into the match, Wilson Ledford had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hayden Honeycutt. Captain America's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wilson Ledford was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. Hayden Honeycutt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Norman Benoit in the 85th minute of the match. Hayden Honeycutt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norman Benoit, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gustavo Herget made an important save on a dangerous shot by Darryl Singletary in the 96th minute. Captain America's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because ACP United had won, even though Captain America had held more of the ball.
