North Versailles
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Shelby Ennis took the kick off in the first half of the match. Shelby Ennis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felix Woodson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Calvin Bowser tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Max Larson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tracy McHugh having to interfere. Tracy McHugh stood somewhat misplaced when Russell Winter came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 13 minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Russell Winter in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tracy McHugh saved Kalamazoo Kazoos from getting behind. If Max Larson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Russell Winter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Tracy McHugh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 28 minutes, Russell Winter managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. North Versailles's supporters crossed their fingers, but Russell Winter was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Russell Winter came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the North Versailles fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Russell Winter couldn't finish the play. Felix Woodson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Calvin Bowser tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 47 minutes, Claude Cox mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kalamazoo Kazoos and the North Versailles players grew even worse after the yellow card. Claude Cox hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. 48 minutes into the match, North Versailles's Omar Kendrick broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Russell Winter to strike the kick off in the second half. If Russell Winter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 61 minutes into the match, Kalamazoo Kazoos's goal looked a bit too open when Max Larson came free, but Tracy McHugh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 63rd play minute Felix Woodson came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Calvin Bowser. 1-1. Felix Woodson took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Calvin Bowser. Calvin Bowser dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. If Russell Winter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Tanner Curtis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tracy McHugh was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Russell Winter in the 76th minute of play forced Kalamazoo Kazoos's goalkeeper Tracy McHugh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Omar Kendrick, 78 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Shelby Ennis struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Calvin Bowser didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kalamazoo Kazoos. Max Larson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tracy McHugh having to interfere. Tracy McHugh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Max Larson, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. North Versailles had played much better football throughout.
