Spectators: 7365 (Terracing: 5865, Seating: 1450, VIP seats: 50) Pocasset Light's Jonathan Corley started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jonathan Corley took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mel Joyner. Mel Joyner dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 7th minute, one of Pocasset Light:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Pocasset Light. Benjamin Munson walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 10 minutes into the game, Carlos Webber was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pocasset Light's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fosiedal FF the free kick. After a rather tough play, Pocasset Light's Carlos Webber got a free kick in the 10th minute. In the 16th minute, one of Fosiedal FF:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Fosiedal FF. Jonathan Corley shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Blair Moon charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Blair Moon the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 18th minute, Blair Moon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Corley in the 20thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Mel Joyner, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Mitchell Doyle hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Benjamin Munson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 24th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Merrill Redding. Pocasset Light's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jim Delgado during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jim Delgado hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. 33 minutes into the match, Ben Lunsford dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Mel Joyner, 3-0. In the 37th minute, Jim Delgado left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fosiedal FF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. 43 minutes into the match, Fosiedal FF's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan Corley came free, but Mel Joyner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 44 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Jonathan Corley sped through Fosiedal FF's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mel Joyner. Ben Lunsford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Merrill Redding showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luciano Carmona, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Jonathan Corley's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mel Joyner read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Jonathan Corley might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mel Joyner. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jonathan Corley ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 58th minute Jonathan Corley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mel Joyner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 59th minute, Ben Lunsford got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 60th minute, Ben Lunsford made a precise shot to the right of Mel Joyner. Fosiedal FF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. When Ben Lunsford came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Pocasset Light fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ben Lunsford couldn't finish the play. After having played for 70 minutes, Ben Lunsford managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pocasset Light's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ben Lunsford was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ben Lunsford came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Pocasset Light fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ben Lunsford couldn't finish the play. Mel Joyner stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jonathan Corley's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Leland Ng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mel Joyner having to interfere. If Jonathan Corley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Fosiedal FF's zone, Leland Ng stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mel Joyner came out of the goal and Leland Ng tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Fosiedal FF getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Luciano Carmona hit a great ball. Ben Lunsford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Pocasset Light's Carlos Webber got a free kick in the 96th minute. There was no doubt that Pocasset Light were the better team. Pocasset Light's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
