After a defensive mix-up in Aransas Pass's zone, Tony Koehler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hal Myrick came out of the goal and Tony Koehler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Bennett Phillips had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Troy Mitchell spun around in front of the goal 22 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Aransas Pass's goal. Hal Myrick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bennett Phillips, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Troy Mitchell took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hal Myrick. Hal Myrick dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bennett Phillips in the 30th minute of play forced Aransas Pass's goalkeeper Hal Myrick to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Houston Rockets's Troy Mitchell in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Aransas Pass's goalie prevented a goal. Bennett Phillips received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Hal Myrick tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 45 minutes into the match, Troy Mitchell notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Aransas Pass's Hal Myrick. Hal Myrick was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Aransas Pass players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Houston Rockets were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Markus Roe made a kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Troy Mitchell had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hal Myrick. Aransas Pass's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Troy Mitchell was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in Aransas Pass's zone, Troy Mitchell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hal Myrick came out of the goal and Troy Mitchell tried to chip the ball over his head. Hal Myrick didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Houston Rockets. Hal Myrick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bennett Phillips, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Bennett Phillips might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hal Myrick. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bennett Phillips ran back to his position shaking his head. 77 minutes into the match, Bennett Phillips dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Hal Myrick, 0-4. After having played for 80 minutes, Stephan Houston managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Houston Rockets's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stephan Houston was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bennett Phillips sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Troy Mitchell who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 84thth minute tested the skills of Hal Myrick when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Bennett Phillips had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute Bennett Phillips shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hal Myrick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 89 minutes, Troy Mitchell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Houston Rockets's supporters crossed their fingers, but Troy Mitchell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Bennett Phillips managed to get in a good position for a shot. Houston Rockets's supporters rose to their feet, but Bennett Phillips was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hal Myrick breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Troy Wills came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Houston Rockets fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Troy Wills couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Frankie Bernstein during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 96 played minutes Aransas Pass got a freekick which was hit by Frankie Bernstein. Houston Rockets played a much better game than Aransas Pass and deserved their victory. The Aransas Pass players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
