Spectators: 6774 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ty Atkinson got the match started through his kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Joshua Borden notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Starkville's Titus Peoples. Titus Peoples was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling William Dotson in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Al Hutchison prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 12 played minutes William Dotson could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 1-1 into the left cross. After a rather tough play, Starkville's Corey Uster got a free kick in the 19th minute. Starkville's Titus Peoples played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joshua Borden in the 22nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ty Atkinson in the 23rd minute of play forced Starkville's goalkeeper Titus Peoples to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute, Diego Hager hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Starkville's Shaun Nance couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 25th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Fairbury. Ty Atkinson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Titus Peoples tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Davis Kohler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Al Hutchison came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Starkville's Mitchell Rutledge. But to his dismay, Mitchell Rutledge quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. If William Dotson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th minute William Dotson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Al Hutchison saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

After a defensive mix-up in Starkville's zone, Joshua Borden stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Titus Peoples came out of the goal and Joshua Borden tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Ty Atkinson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Titus Peoples. That made the score 2-2 in the 53 minute of play. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fairbury's goalkeeper Al Hutchison, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 65th minute, Rolf Mattson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Titus Peoples made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Joshua Borden sent off a good shot on target. An unexpected shot in the 68th minute by Joshua Borden got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Joshua Borden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Titus Peoples tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Starkville's Titus Peoples played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ty Atkinson in the 84th minute of play. After 85 minutes, Corey Uster mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Starkville and the Fairbury players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mitchell Rutledge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
