Seating: 1762, VIP seats: 153) Fairbury's Ty Atkinson started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rolf Mattson hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Jonah Workman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Al Hutchison tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jonah Workman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 26th minute, Jonah Workman made a precise shot to the right of Al Hutchison. Fairbury's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. In the 28th minute, Rolf Mattson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joshua Borden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romeo Stroh having to interfere. East Haven's Romeo Stroh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joshua Borden in the 38th minute of play. In the 45th minute Ty Atkinson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeo Stroh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sal Barbour stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. East Haven's Romeo Stroh proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save East Haven from getting a goal against them. Ty Atkinson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Romeo Stroh having to make a save. Al Hutchison came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by East Haven's Sal Barbour. But to his dismay, Sal Barbour quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. When Joshua Borden came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Fairbury fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joshua Borden couldn't finish the play. 72 minutes into the game, Eddie Foster was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fairbury's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave East Haven the free kick. After a rather tough play, Fairbury's Eddie Foster got a free kick in the 72nd minute. When Sal Barbour came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the East Haven fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sal Barbour couldn't finish the play. In the 81st minute, Duke Esparza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Peter Waller hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Joshua Borden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romeo Stroh having to interfere. After a rather tough play, East Haven's Duke Esparza got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Ty Atkinson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romeo Stroh having to interfere. Joshua Borden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. For all the effort they put into the match, the Fairbury players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for East Haven.
