Detroit Lakes's Abraham Pendleton was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 17th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Abraham Pendleton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ervin Beckman in the 24th minute of play forced Detroit Lakes's goalkeeper Grady Kelly to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute Vince Foley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grady Kelly saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eliseo Marcus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abraham Pendleton in the 31st minute of the match. When Ernest Trevino came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Detroit Lakes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ernest Trevino couldn't finish the play. After 39 played minutes Detroit Lakes got a freekick which was hit by Kirby Hastings. A collision led to Detroit Lakes getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Ernest Trevino hit a great ball. Ervin Beckman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ervin Beckman was the one to do the kick off. Ernest Trevino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eliseo Marcus read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. In the 54th match minute, Bexley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bennett Drummond to maneuver through the defense. 55 minutes into the game, Detroit Lakes's Abraham Pendleton nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eliseo Marcus made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Tracey Zimmer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 61stth minute of the game Abraham Pendleton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bexley's Eliseo Marcus was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ernest Trevino struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Eliseo Marcus didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Detroit Lakes. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abraham Pendleton in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eliseo Marcus prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 67 played minutes Bexley got a freekick which was hit by Vince Foley. When Detroit Lakes's Abraham Pendleton in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bexley's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abraham Pendleton in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eliseo Marcus saved Bexley from getting behind. Bexley's Eliseo Marcus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abraham Pendleton in the 73rd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Glen Longoria during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 74th match minute, Bexley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Glen Longoria to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Bexley's zone, Abraham Pendleton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eliseo Marcus came out of the goal and Abraham Pendleton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Abraham Pendleton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eliseo Marcus was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. If Tracey Zimmer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abraham Pendleton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Abraham Pendleton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliseo Marcus having to interfere. Abraham Pendleton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tracey Zimmer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Eliseo Marcus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
