An unexpectedly hard shot by Don Maloney in the 33rd minute of play forced East Haven's goalkeeper Romeo Stroh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sal Barbour fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adolfo Hillman having to interfere. A collision led to East Haven getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Jay Britt hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Don Maloney in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Romeo Stroh saved East Haven from getting behind. Sandy Stout fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romeo Stroh having to interfere. Romeo Stroh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Don Maloney in the 47th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Don Maloney to make the kick off. The Hunters Creek Village AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. 67 minutes into the match, East Haven's goal looked a bit too open when Don Maloney came free, but Romeo Stroh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. East Haven's Romeo Stroh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Don Maloney in the 69th minute of play.
