In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Citizen Fc's goalkeeper Roland Corey, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Citizen Fc booed when FC Motagua was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ismael Rollins didn't get a good kick on the ball. Citizen Fc's Monte Lawrence got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arturo Farr struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Sanford Benjamin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Citizen Fc. Zane Cole received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Roland Corey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zane Cole took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Roland Corey. Roland Corey dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Roland Corey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zane Cole in the 45th minute of the match. In the 47th minute Zane Cole shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roland Corey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

In the 54th minute, Terrence Doe made a precise shot to the right of Roland Corey. Citizen Fc's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. If Monte Lawrence had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
