An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Lester in the 44th minute of play forced The beasts's goalkeeper Isaiah Stephens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Phillip Braxton might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Isaiah Stephens. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Phillip Braxton ran back to his position shaking his head.

Cloquet's Julian Lester got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Isaiah Stephens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Lester, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. In the 92nd minute, Blake Mason hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 93rd minute of the match Francisco Sykes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Isaiah Stephens showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
