In the 30th minute Alexis Cope shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelson Lusk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alexis Cope scored 0-2 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nelson Lusk, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 41 minutes, Alexis Cope managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lemont FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexis Cope was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nelson Lusk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Erickson in the 43rd minute of the match. The Cypress Gardens FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Lemont FC were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wallace Tharp stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sonny Mayfield showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wallace Tharp, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Cypress Gardens FC's Nelson Lusk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivan Erickson in the 83rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wallace Tharp in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sonny Mayfield prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 91 minutes into the match, Cypress Gardens FC's Scottie Yeager sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sonny Mayfield narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 93 minutes into the match, Wallace Tharp had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sonny Mayfield. Lemont FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wallace Tharp was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2.
