Colonia's Flint Burks played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chu Mo Yong in the 16th minute of play. Flint Burks took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lincoln Herbert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jose Longoria made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tad Crusher in the 20th minute. 21 minutes into the match, D.J. Roland dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jose Longoria, 1-1. Lincoln Herbert hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Flint Burks didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Cypress's Lincoln Herbert shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-4 in the ordered_time% minute. A collision led to Cypress getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Roger Bonds hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Colonia's D.J. Roland got a free kick in the 42nd minute. When the match clock showed 44 minutes, the score became 1-5 when Roger Bonds sped through Colonia's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Flint Burks. Johnny Jacobs's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jose Longoria firmly grabbed it by the left post. Tad Crusher could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Jose Longoria made a huge save. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-5 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell D.J. Roland to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Lincoln Herbert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flint Burks saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Lincoln Herbert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 1-6 became the score in the 59th minute when Roger Bonds elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Chu Mo Yong struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Flint Burks didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cypress. Flint Burks made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Lincoln Herbert sent off a good shot on target. 71 minutes into the match, Cypress's Lincoln Herbert sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Flint Burks narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Stephen Foote hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Cypress's Lincoln Herbert got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lincoln Herbert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Flint Burks tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Cypress's zone, Stephen Foote stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jose Longoria came out of the goal and Stephen Foote tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 83rd minute, Lincoln Herbert left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cypress fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-7. Cypress's Jose Longoria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johnny Jacobs in the 88th minute of play. In the 90th minute, Colonia's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Lincoln Herbert fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 92nd minute, Lincoln Herbert ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Flint Burks was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-8. When the match was over Cypress could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Colonia throughout the match.
