Lincoln Beal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marian Rekowski in the 25th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Thunder FC defense, Matthew Zaragoza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lincoln Beal. The Thunder FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lincoln Beal should have stopped the shot. Lincoln Beal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Matthew Zaragoza went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 40th minute, Júnior Baiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Matthew Zaragoza in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lincoln Beal saved Thunder FC from getting behind. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When Eusebio Aguirre came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Thunder FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eusebio Aguirre couldn't finish the play. Rickie Bingham could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Lincoln Beal made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Club Atlético Lanús's Dallas Huff slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lincoln Beal. That made the score 0-6 after 90 minutes of play. With a little luck, Thunder FC's Lincoln Beal got control of the ball when Rickie Bingham tried to sneak it across the goal line. Club Atlético Lanús's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
