Spencer Willoughby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Lincoln Beal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Henry McDonald came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Valdosta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Henry McDonald couldn't finish the play. Lincoln Beal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Randall Scruggs in the 28th minute. In the 36th minute Ferdinand Barber shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Blaine Wills saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Spencer Willoughby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lincoln Beal having to interfere. Randall Scruggs took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lincoln Beal. Lincoln Beal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Blaine Wills made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ferdinand Barber in the 74th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Blair Rose managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thunder FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Blair Rose was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Blaine Wills breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Thunder FC's Royce Coulter got a free kick in the 78th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Valdosta's zone, Ferdinand Barber stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Blaine Wills came out of the goal and Ferdinand Barber tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Allen Delgado might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lincoln Beal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Allen Delgado ran back to his position shaking his head. Allen Delgado's late challenge caught a Thunder FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Allen Delgado helped the player get up and apologised. Allen Delgado kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match.
