Octavio Hines started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd match minute, Racing de Carolina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Omar Peoples to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Port Vale FC booed when Racing de Carolina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chad Poe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Casey Dill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Vaughn Shipman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Merle Scott fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vaughn Shipman having to interfere. Merle Scott sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cole Stevens's late challenge caught a Racing de Carolina's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cole Stevens helped the player get up and apologised. Racing de Carolina's Blaine George was substituted for John Stein. Cole Stevens hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. The audience held their breath when Weldon Hamlin in the 21st minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Anton Kauffman's left hand side. Merle Scott sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Dalton Klein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Racing de Carolina's Vaughn Shipman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Casey Dill in the 41st minute of play.

In the 63rd match minute, Racing de Carolina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brandon Gill to maneuver through the defense. In the 64th minute, Casey Dill got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Racing de Carolina's Octavio Hines got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee gave Port Vale FC a penalty, 81 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Leland Ambrose, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Racing de Carolina's Vaughn Shipman. 0-2. Dalton Klein received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Anton Kauffman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Octavio Hines fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anton Kauffman having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Port Vale FC's Ernest Platt got a free kick in the 95th minute.
