Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Sammy Nixon started the match with the kick off. After 10 minutes of play, Mountain West FC's Chris Reyna made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Shelby Mercer was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 13thth minute of the game Chris Reyna who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Victoria's Shelby Mercer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Terrell Lunsford made in the 15th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Mountain West FC's Virgilio Whitney. Orhan Seyfi Sancar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Shelby Mercer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shelby Mercer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sammy Nixon in the 26th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Sammy Nixon notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Victoria's Shelby Mercer. Shelby Mercer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Shelby Mercer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sammy Nixon's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. After 35 minutes of play, Mountain West FC's Chris Reyna made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Shelby Mercer was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mountain West FC's Chris Reyna got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 41st minute Sammy Nixon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shelby Mercer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sammy Nixon scored 0-5 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Shelby Mercer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bradly Salinas was the one to do the kick off. Angelo Dumas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Shelby Mercer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Van Walls made in the 56th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Calvin Cayla immediately put the ball in play. In the 59th match minute, Mountain West FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angelo Dumas to maneuver through the defense. Mountain West FC's Roy Holman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tad Stephens in the 60th minute of play. A collision led to Victoria getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Denver Chester hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bradly Salinas in the 66th minute of play forced Mountain West FC's goalkeeper Roy Holman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Montrel Belber charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Montrel Belber the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 70th minute, Montrel Belber hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Victoria's Tad Stephens in 75 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Roy Holman guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. When the match clock showed 84 minutes, the score became 0-6 when Sammy Nixon sped through Victoria's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Shelby Mercer. In the 88th minute Chris Reyna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shelby Mercer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leif Donaldson's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Shelby Mercer firmly grabbed it by the left post. Sammy Nixon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Shelby Mercer made a huge save. Shelby Mercer was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Orhan Seyfi Sancar showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-7 in the 92 minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Leif Donaldson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mountain West FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Leif Donaldson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Shelby Mercer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mountain West FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
