Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 150) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Sydney Cowan kicked off to start the match. Stacy Novak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 5 minutes into the game, Sydney Cowan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Downriver AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sporting Kay Cee the free kick. In the 5th match minute, Downriver AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sydney Cowan to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Milton Romero in the 7th minute of play forced Downriver AFC's goalkeeper Ivan Higgins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sydney Cowan hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute Timothy Ford shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Higgins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Milton Romero in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ivan Higgins prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Milton Romero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stacy Novak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Higgins having to interfere. In the 29th minute, Ian Tompkins fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. If Stacy Novak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 33rd minute, Milton Romero ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ivan Higgins was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Ivan Higgins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oliver Hoover in the 42nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Downriver AFC's zone, Milton Romero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivan Higgins came out of the goal and Milton Romero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Milton Romero stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ronnie Harrison kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Ivan Higgins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Milton Romero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Oliver Hoover blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ivan Higgins having to make a save. Oliver Hoover scored 0-2 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ivan Higgins, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Stacy Novak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Milton Romero's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 79thth minute, Ivan Higgins skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The Sporting Kay Cee fans' excitement grew in the 81st match minute when Sporting Kay Cee's Milton Romero looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 85 played minutes Downriver AFC got a freekick which was hit by Ian Tompkins. Stacy Novak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Ivan Higgins managed to avoid a goal in the 92ndth minute, when Sporting Kay Cee's Milton Romero fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Sporting Kay Cee played a much better game than Downriver AFC and deserved their victory. The Downriver AFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
