The Erma fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Chris Beal should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Erma getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Josiah Phelps hit a great ball. Erma's Derek Cleveland got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Derek Cleveland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Freddy Roy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Derek Cleveland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30thth minute of the game Derek Cleveland who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gates's Freddy Roy was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 32 minutes of play, Erma's Derek Cleveland made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Freddy Roy was left in no man's land by his defense there! Josiah Phelps fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Freddy Roy having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Gates's zone, Derek Cleveland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Freddy Roy came out of the goal and Derek Cleveland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Derek Cleveland was the one to do the kick off. Josiah Phelps kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Douglas DeJesus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chris Beal having to interfere. Chris Beal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gates. In the 81st minute, Marlon Vilter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Erma booed when Gates was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sherwood Boswell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Derek Cleveland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Freddy Roy having to interfere. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
