The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the game, Tobias Battle cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Jamel Ivy was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 11 minutes into the match, Marengo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wendell Rooney came free, but Donovan Dillard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marengo FC's Donovan Dillard proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Marengo FC from getting a goal against them. In the 19th minute Wendell Rooney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donovan Dillard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jonas Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 21 minutes into the game, Cary Conrad was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marengo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Universitatea7 Cluj the free kick. Wendell Rooney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Wilmer Robinson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Universitatea7 Cluj's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilmer Robinson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donovan Dillard breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. From close distance Ding Mata pressed in the 1-1 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 28 minutes into the game. In the 32nd minute, one of Marengo FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Marengo FC. Donovan Dillard stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ding Mata's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Romeo Boyer kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Donovan Dillard stood somewhat misplaced when Ding Mata came free in front of goal and shot 3-1 to the left of him in the 39 minute. Donovan Dillard was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ding Mata showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-1 in the 42 minute of play. The Universitatea7 Cluj fans' excitement grew in the 44th match minute when Universitatea7 Cluj's Milo Schmitt looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ding Mata made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ding Mata in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Donovan Dillard prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Donovan Dillard came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Universitatea7 Cluj's Ding Mata. But to his dismay, Ding Mata quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. Jonas Alvarenga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 62 minutes into the game, Ding Mata cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-1. Donovan Dillard was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Milo Schmitt struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Donovan Dillard didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Universitatea7 Cluj. Blade Coote's late challenge caught a Marengo FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Blade Coote helped the player get up and apologised. Blade Coote hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Freddie Annan in the 70thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jamel Ivy, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 75 minutes, Jonas Alvarenga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Universitatea7 Cluj and the Marengo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jonas Alvarenga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Donovan Dillard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 83 minutes into the match, Universitatea7 Cluj's goalkeeper Jamel Ivy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Freddie Annan. With a little luck, Universitatea7 Cluj's Jamel Ivy got control of the ball when Freddie Annan tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 87 minutes, Ding Mata made it 8-1 with a short kick to the right side. Marengo FC's Donovan Dillard tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Tobias Battle could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Jamel Ivy made a huge save.
