Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Martin Bond started the match with the kick off. Tomas Shipley's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Chuck Matlock read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Bond in the 6th minute of play forced Valley FC's goalkeeper Joel Stover to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th minute, Adrian Dupre ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Chuck Matlock was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Merrill Cody in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Chuck Matlock saved Copenhagen FC from getting behind. Valley FC's Joel Stover played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Bond in the 12th minute of play. Percy Gallardo charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Percy Gallardo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Percy Gallardo kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Merrill Cody managed to get in a good position for a shot. Valley FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Merrill Cody was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chuck Matlock breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Joel Stover came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Copenhagen FC's Martin Bond. But to his dismay, Martin Bond quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a rather tough play, Valley FC's Merrill Cody got a free kick in the 20th minute. Odell Lott could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Chuck Matlock made a huge save. In the 28th minute Adrian Dupre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chuck Matlock saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chuck Matlock made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Shipley in the 29th minute. 35 minutes into the match, Copenhagen FC's goal looked a bit too open when Merrill Cody came free, but Chuck Matlock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Valley FC booed when Copenhagen FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trevor Bernstein didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adrian Dupre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience was convinced that Odell Lott's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Chuck Matlock was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. Chuck Matlock took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Merrill Cody, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomas Shipley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Chuck Matlock made a huge save. A collision led to Copenhagen FC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Trevor Bernstein hit a great ball. In the 45th minute, Adrian Dupre made a precise shot to the right of Chuck Matlock. Copenhagen FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adrian Dupre stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Reed Hadley during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Reed Hadley hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrian Dupre in the 56th minute of play forced Copenhagen FC's goalkeeper Chuck Matlock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Merrill Cody had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st minute Craig Carmichael shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chuck Matlock saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd minute Odell Lott shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chuck Matlock saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chuck Matlock was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Merrill Cody in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Chuck Matlock prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 93 minutes into the match, Copenhagen FC's goal looked a bit too open when Odell Lott came free, but Chuck Matlock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Merrill Cody sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Valley FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
