In the 16th play minute Gabriel Tillman came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Alex Westbrook. 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Everett Chavez in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg D.J. McCollum saved UC Berleley from getting behind. 22 minutes into the match, Monmouth's goalkeeper Alex Westbrook had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leopoldo Sesuldo. Monmouth's Alex Westbrook played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horaz Zumbrunnen in the 24th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Werner Vickers during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Everett Chavez might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over D.J. McCollum. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Everett Chavez ran back to his position shaking his head. 35 minutes into the match, Monmouth's goal looked a bit too open when Macías Pajazo came free, but Alex Westbrook reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alex Westbrook was a little too slow when Karahan Uçkan got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 40th minute. The score was now 4-0. With 43 minutes on the clock, Olin Stahl commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in UC Berleley fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 42nd minute. Penalty! When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Everett Chavez made a kick off. Ted Russell charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ted Russell the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 56 played minutes UC Berleley got a freekick which was hit by Ted Russell. The supporters of UC Berleley booed when Monmouth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darryl Sinclair didn't get a good kick on the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Monmouth's goal looked a bit too open when Karahan Uçkan came free, but Alex Westbrook reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th minute, Karahan Uçkan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Karahan Uçkan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Karahan Uçkan might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alex Westbrook. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Karahan Uçkan ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Horaz Zumbrunnen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alex Westbrook was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. 73 minutes into the game, UC Berleley's Karahan Uçkan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. In the 82nd minute, Karahan Uçkan made a precise shot to the right of Alex Westbrook. Monmouth's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0. In the 86th minute, Macías Pajazo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alex Westbrook was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. Alex Westbrook stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Karahan Uçkan's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Macías Pajazo managed to get in a good position for a shot. UC Berleley's supporters rose to their feet, but Macías Pajazo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alex Westbrook breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. UC Berleley had played much better football throughout.
