The referee showed Gerard Lehman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Breckinridge AFC booed when Colorado Springs F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerard Lehman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jorge Stafford made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timmy Flanagan in the 24th minute of play. In the 26th minute A.J. Murdock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denny Gray saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Berry Cummins's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 31stth minute, Jorge Stafford skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Enoch Mallory struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Denny Gray didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Colorado Springs F.C.. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Timmy Flanagan was the one to do the kick off. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Colorado Springs F.C. booed when Breckinridge AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sherwood Starks didn't get a good kick on the ball. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
