After a defensive mix-up in Breckinridge AFC's zone, Javier Pace stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Denny Gray came out of the goal and Javier Pace tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Karahan Uçkan came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the UC Berleley fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karahan Uçkan couldn't finish the play. Berry Cummins took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised D.J. McCollum. D.J. McCollum dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 23rd minute, Rickey Matlock hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Breckinridge AFC's Denny Gray proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Breckinridge AFC from getting a goal against them. Desmond Werner struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. D.J. McCollum didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Breckinridge AFC. In the 34th minute, Berry Cummins made a precise shot to the right of D.J. McCollum. UC Berleley's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Berry Cummins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without D.J. McCollum having to interfere. If Timmy Flanagan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Leopoldo Sesuldo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Macías Pajazo in the 43rd minute of play forced Breckinridge AFC's goalkeeper Denny Gray to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 45 played minutes Breckinridge AFC got a freekick which was hit by Teddy Winter.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Javier Pace was the one to do the kick off. Leopoldo Sesuldo took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Denny Gray. Denny Gray dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. If Leopoldo Sesuldo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Denny Gray took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Macías Pajazo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alistair Kruse during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 63rd match minute, UC Berleley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alistair Kruse to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 64 minutes, Berry Cummins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Breckinridge AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Berry Cummins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leopoldo Sesuldo in the 65th minute of play forced Breckinridge AFC's goalkeeper Denny Gray to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 71st minute Macías Pajazo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denny Gray saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 73 minutes, Javier Pace made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. Breckinridge AFC's Denny Gray tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Denny Gray showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leopoldo Sesuldo in the 76th minute of the match. In the 77th minute UC Berleley were awarded a corner. Gabriel Tillman went to the cornerflag to take it. UC Berleley's Gabriel Tillman was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Denny Gray in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 89 minutes into the game, UC Berleley's Karahan Uçkan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Denny Gray made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Denny Gray stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Javier Pace's shot from short distance in the 94th minute.
