When Kris McGuire fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Breckinridge AFC's protests and gave Kris McGuire a yellow card for diving instead. In the 3rd match minute, Breckinridge AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kris McGuire to maneuver through the defense. Denny Gray showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michael Crusher, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Monmouth's Alex Westbrook played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Berry Cummins in the 13th minute of play. Brice Ivy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alex Westbrook took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kris McGuire, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Monmouth getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Alexis Ferrell hit a great ball. In the 22nd match minute, Breckinridge AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sherwood Starks to maneuver through the defense. Alex Westbrook showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kris McGuire in the 24th minute of the match. Alex Westbrook showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kris McGuire, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sherwood Starks during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 29th match minute, Breckinridge AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sherwood Starks to maneuver through the defense. Alex Westbrook took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kris McGuire, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 41 minutes into the match, Monmouth's goal looked a bit too open when Kris McGuire came free, but Alex Westbrook reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alberto Chappelle during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Breckinridge AFC booed when Monmouth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Chappelle didn't get a good kick on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Michael Crusher made a kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Timmy Flanagan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Breckinridge AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Timmy Flanagan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alberto Chappelle was shown his second yellow card after 53 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Alex Westbrook was a little too slow when Berry Cummins got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 57th minute. The score was now 0-1. Kris McGuire could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Alex Westbrook made a huge save. In the 63rd minute, Rickey Matlock reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Alex Westbrook. The goal made the score 0-2. Breckinridge AFC's Brice Ivy got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Monmouth getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Werner Vickers hit a great ball. Breckinridge AFC's Sherwood Starks got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Berry Cummins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kris McGuire could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Alex Westbrook made a huge save. With a little luck, Monmouth's Alex Westbrook got control of the ball when Kris McGuire tried to sneak it across the goal line. 81 minutes into the match, Breckinridge AFC's Kris McGuire sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alex Westbrook narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Brice Ivy took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alex Westbrook. Alex Westbrook dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Alex Westbrook took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Berry Cummins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 96th minute of the match, Brice Ivy got a very nice opportunity to score, but Alex Westbrook was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Breckinridge AFC's Kris McGuire got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Breckinridge AFC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
