To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Shannon Crandall fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Raritan's protests and gave Shannon Crandall a yellow card for diving instead. In the 10th minute, Shannon Crandall hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Raritan's Whitney Pryor in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pickens's goalie prevented a goal. Tyrell McIntosh charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tyrell McIntosh the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 34th match minute, Pickens was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tyrell McIntosh to maneuver through the defense. Brandon Webber showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Whitney Pryor in the 35th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Shannon Crandall got free with Brandon Webber in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Whitney Pryor to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Raritan got a freekick which was hit by Archie Hayes. If Trevor Brady had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rudy Dodson hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Pickens eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
