Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Boyd Santana started the match with the kick off. Tyron Potter made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Noah Reece sent off a good shot on target. Zane Irvin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 11 minutes into the match, Tad Segura notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Raritan's Shayne Witherspoon. Shayne Witherspoon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Raritan's Zane Irvin got a free kick in the 14th minute. When Tad Segura came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the North Cape May fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tad Segura couldn't finish the play. In the 19th minute, Peter Braun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tyrell Allison missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 21 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Shayne Witherspoon right hand side. Raritan's Shayne Witherspoon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tad Segura in the 23rd minute of play. Zane Irvin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Tyron Potter made a huge save. After 25 played minutes Raritan got a freekick which was hit by Peter Braun. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tad Segura in the 28th minute of play forced Raritan's goalkeeper Shayne Witherspoon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Shayne Witherspoon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tad Segura in the 29th minute of play. Shayne Witherspoon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tad Segura went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 38 minutes into the match, North Cape May's goal looked a bit too open when Zane Irvin came free, but Tyron Potter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Zane Irvin came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Raritan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zane Irvin couldn't finish the play. Noah Reece charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Noah Reece the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Shayne Witherspoon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tad Segura in the 45th minute of the match. After the first half North Cape May were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tad Segura to make the kick off. When the match had gone on for 51 minutes, Tad Segura took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Shayne Witherspoon to make any attempt to save it. Zane Irvin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 59thth minute of the game Boyd Santana who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but North Cape May's Tyron Potter was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 60 minutes North Cape May's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Boyd Santana who took care of the corner kick. If Boyd Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Boyd Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 66 minutes into the game, Emmanuel Ruiz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. North Cape May's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Raritan the free kick. Emmanuel Ruiz kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. In the 69th minute, Noah Reece got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, North Cape May's Bernie Mathis got a free kick in the 77th minute. North Cape May's Emmanuel Ruiz pulled a muscle in his leg after 79 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 80th match minute, Raritan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zane Irvin to maneuver through the defense. In the 89th minute, Noah Reece made a precise shot to the right of Tyron Potter. North Cape May's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. In the 92nd minute, Boyd Santana got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tyron Potter stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Boyd Santana's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. In the 95th match minute, Raritan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zane Irvin to maneuver through the defense. Rey Castillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. North Cape May were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Raritan's much stronger midfield.
