With a little luck, Raritan's Shayne Witherspoon got control of the ball when Riho Hindpere tried to sneak it across the goal line. Brad Ames hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Raritan defense, Benedykt Cwenar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Shayne Witherspoon. The Raritan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Shayne Witherspoon should have stopped the shot. 14 minutes into the match, Raritan's goal looked a bit too open when František Spousta came free, but Shayne Witherspoon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Shayne Witherspoon was out of position in the 15 minute of play, and Riho Hindpere capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Riho Hindpere really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. Benedykt Cwenar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Shayne Witherspoon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gilles Eichenberger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boyd Santana, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After 22 minutes of play, Raritan's Boyd Santana made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gilles Eichenberger was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 25th minute, Tuan Seay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 26 minutes into the match, Raritan's Theo Gallegos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gilles Eichenberger narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 27 minutes into the match, Raritan's goal looked a bit too open when František Spousta came free, but Shayne Witherspoon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute, Benedykt Cwenar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Shayne Witherspoon was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. After 31 played minutes Raritan got a freekick which was hit by Zane Irvin. The supporters of FC Schalke 04 booed when Raritan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boyd Santana didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gilles Eichenberger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Noah Reece, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tuan Seay kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. In the 45th minute of the match Peter Braun sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gilles Eichenberger skillfully saved the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-1 at half-time.

Mel Hewitt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shayne Witherspoon having to interfere. After 62 minutes of play, FC Schalke 04's František Spousta made it 6-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Shayne Witherspoon was left in no man's land by his defense there! Shayne Witherspoon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benedykt Cwenar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boyd Santana in the 74th minute of play forced FC Schalke 04's goalkeeper Gilles Eichenberger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Riho Hindpere scored 8-1 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Shayne Witherspoon, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Shayne Witherspoon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Riho Hindpere in the 79th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Boyd Santana's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gilles Eichenberger was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. Riho Hindpere received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Shayne Witherspoon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 95 minutes of play, FC Schalke 04's František Spousta made it 9-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Shayne Witherspoon was left in no man's land by his defense there! There was no doubt that FC Schalke 04 were the better team. FC Schalke 04's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
