The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Jonas Armendariz put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Tyron Potter. The audience was convinced that Tad Segura's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Spencer Shearer was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Tyron Potter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonas Armendariz, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jonas Armendariz in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tyron Potter saved North Cape May from getting behind. After a rather tough play, North Cape May's Emmanuel Ruiz got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 39th minute, Jonas Armendariz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Borussia Dortmund's Spencer Shearer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Borussia Dortmund from getting a goal against them. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Jonas Armendariz made the kick off in the second half. Jonas Armendariz did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-6 to the left of a surprised Tyron Potter 65 minutes into the match. Matvey Izvolskiy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Tyron Potter made a huge save. Emmitt Hamm struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Spencer Shearer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for North Cape May. Tracy Flynn's late challenge caught a North Cape May's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tracy Flynn helped the player get up and apologised. In the 77th minute Emmitt Hamm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Spencer Shearer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tracy Flynn got his second yellow card in the match during the 80th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 80th minute, Tracy Flynn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Spencer Shearer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tad Segura in the 82nd minute of play. After 87 minutes North Cape May's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Matvey Izvolskiy who took care of the corner kick. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind North Cape May's goalkeeper Tyron Potter, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 91st minute, Matvey Izvolskiy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 95 played minutes North Cape May got a freekick which was hit by Tyrell Allison. The North Cape May fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Borussia Dortmund were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
