With a couple of smart ball manuevers Michal Rejman in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cristopher Munson saved Los Angeles F.C from getting behind. Rolando Callahan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Gilberto Boyer made a huge save. If Flint Thacker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute, Michal Rejman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Djibouti Jujy Fruits fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Cao Lei Yi's late challenge caught a Los Angeles F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rolando Callahan was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Djibouti Jujy Fruits booed when Los Angeles F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cruz Hardy didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fritz Futterman got free with Cristopher Munson in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Michal Rejman fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Djibouti Jujy Fruits's protests and gave Michal Rejman a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Djibouti Jujy Fruits getting a freekick after 91 minutes play.
