After 13 played minutes Mile High FC got a freekick which was hit by Norberto Courtney. After 14 played minutes, Vernon Hills's Tad Jamison shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Frankie Herndon came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Vernon Hills reached it. Norberto Courtney kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Frankie Herndon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wade Powell in the 21st minute of play. In the 25th minute, Mile High FC's Werner Kessler ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Garth Eason. Garth Eason yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. 31 minutes into the game, Raymundo Alvaro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mile High FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vernon Hills the free kick. After 31 played minutes Mile High FC got a freekick which was hit by Raymundo Alvaro. Wade Powell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Werner Kessler in the 35th minute of play forced Vernon Hills's goalkeeper Garth Eason to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andre Teague got free with Garth Eason in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vernon Hills's Garth Eason played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Werner Kessler in the 38th minute of play. William Mueller kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Frankie Herndon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Todd Carmona's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. When Raymundo Alvaro was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 45 minutes had been played. In the 46th match minute, Mile High FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raymundo Alvaro to maneuver through the defense. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Wade Powell struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Frankie Herndon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vernon Hills. After having played for 52 minutes, Todd Carmona managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vernon Hills's supporters crossed their fingers, but Todd Carmona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, William Mueller managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mile High FC's supporters rose to their feet, but William Mueller was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Garth Eason breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Garth Eason showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from William Mueller, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by William Mueller in the 57th minute of play forced Vernon Hills's goalkeeper Garth Eason to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Van Christian kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. If Wade Powell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frankie Herndon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Todd Carmona in the 70th minute of play. A well placed Todd Carmona short distance shot in the 71st minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. When Todd Carmona fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vernon Hills's protests and gave Todd Carmona a yellow card for diving instead. Todd Carmona hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. If William Mueller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 83 minutes into the match, William Mueller notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Vernon Hills's Garth Eason. Garth Eason was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 86 minutes, William Mueller mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mile High FC and the Vernon Hills players grew even worse after the yellow card. Garth Eason took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from William Mueller, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Garth Eason showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from William Mueller, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Garth Eason showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from William Mueller in the 96th minute of the match. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
