An unexpectedly hard shot by Marshall Randle in the 9th minute of play forced Vernon Hills's goalkeeper Garth Eason to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wade Powell struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Michael Parnell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vernon Hills. Garth Eason made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Winston Huff in the 31st minute of play. Vernon Hills's Garth Eason played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Winston Huff in the 35th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, Vernon Hills's goal looked a bit too open when Rickie Mott came free, but Garth Eason reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 41 minutes into the game, Oswego's Winston Huff nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Garth Eason made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Garth Eason showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Young Puckett in the 45th minute of the match. After 45 minutes of play, Oswego's Young Puckett made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Garth Eason was left in no man's land by his defense there!

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Young Puckett to strike the kick off in the second half. Winston Huff's late challenge caught a Vernon Hills's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Winston Huff helped the player get up and apologised. Winston Huff hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, Oswego's Garth Eason threw himself towards the right post 56 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Young Puckett, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A collision led to Oswego getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Winston Huff hit a great ball. Michael Parnell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elias Lowe, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. If Winston Huff had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rickie Mott in the 71st minute of play forced Vernon Hills's goalkeeper Garth Eason to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Garth Eason made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Winston Huff sent off a good shot on target. 77 minutes into the match, Vernon Hills's goalkeeper Garth Eason had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Winston Huff. With a little luck, Vernon Hills's Garth Eason got control of the ball when Ernest Dukes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Winston Huff scored 0-4 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Garth Eason, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Garth Eason stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Young Puckett's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Oswego had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
