The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 7th minute Werner Kessler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Derek McGowan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Woodrow Fountain fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Forest SC's protests and gave Woodrow Fountain a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Mile High FC booed when Forest SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Woodrow Fountain didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kelly Hobson's late challenge caught a Forest SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Forest SC's zone, William Mueller stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Derek McGowan came out of the goal and William Mueller tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 33 minutes into the game, Bennett Newcomb was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Forest SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mile High FC the free kick. The supporters of Mile High FC booed when Forest SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bennett Newcomb didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 38 minutes, Marcos Ciccaglione managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Forest SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcos Ciccaglione was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ross Landers came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Forest SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ross Landers couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Forest SC booed when Mile High FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kelly Hobson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Desmond Bruner made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th match minute, Mile High FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonah Blackman to maneuver through the defense. Marcos Ciccaglione recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Frankie Herndon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Ciccaglione, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Ross Landers managed to get in a good position for a shot. Forest SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ross Landers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frankie Herndon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Forest SC's Marcos Ciccaglione got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Frankie Herndon came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Forest SC's Marcos Ciccaglione. But to his dismay, Marcos Ciccaglione quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Frankie Herndon made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Ross Landers sent off a good shot on target. In the 77th minute, Forest SC's Marcos Ciccaglione ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Frankie Herndon. Frankie Herndon yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Kurtis Cooper struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Frankie Herndon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Forest SC. Marcos Ciccaglione sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcos Ciccaglione received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Frankie Herndon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 91 minutes into the game, Kurtis Cooper recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Frankie Herndon. Kurtis Cooper showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. When the final whistle sounded Forest SC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Mile High FC.
