Ross Landers's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Garth Eason read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. Marcos Ciccaglione fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Garth Eason having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Todd Carmona in the 44th minute of play forced Forest SC's goalkeeper Derek McGowan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Derek McGowan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elias Lowe in the 48th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Desmond Bruner to make the kick off. Marcos Ciccaglione hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Derek McGowan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elias Lowe in the 54th minute of the match. Garth Eason showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ross Landers, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. After 56 minutes of play Vernon Hills's Brandon Moran was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Vernon Hills getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Brandon Moran hit a great ball. After 61 minutes, Desmond Bruner made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Vernon Hills's Garth Eason tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 65 played minutes Forest SC got a freekick which was hit by Desmond Bruner. In the 66th minute of the match Wade Powell sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Derek McGowan skillfully saved the ball. If Ross Landers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vernon Hills's Garth Eason played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Desmond Bruner in the 69th minute of play. Garth Eason showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcos Ciccaglione in the 70th minute of the match. With a little luck, Forest SC's Derek McGowan got control of the ball when Elias Lowe tried to sneak it across the goal line. Willis Madden charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Willis Madden the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 81 played minutes Vernon Hills got a freekick which was hit by Willis Madden. Forest SC's Ross Landers got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kurtis Cooper's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Garth Eason read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. In the 85th minute, Ross Landers ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Garth Eason was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. When Forest SC's Ross Landers in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vernon Hills's goalie prevented a goal.
