With a little luck, Vernon Hills's Garth Eason got control of the ball when Jasper McCormick tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 21st minute Rocky Squires shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garth Eason saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 25 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Jasper McCormick sped through Vernon Hills's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Garth Eason. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Lloyd Castillo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Red Hill FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Lloyd Castillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Garth Eason breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jasper McCormick recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Garth Eason showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rocky Squires, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After 39 played minutes Red Hill FC got a freekick which was hit by Nestor Piorno. The supporters of Red Hill FC booed when Vernon Hills was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brandon Moran didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jasper McCormick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Garth Eason tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Garth Eason made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucio Hermon in the 51st minute of play. When Van Christian fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vernon Hills's protests and gave Van Christian a yellow card for diving instead. Van Christian kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. After 55 played minutes Vernon Hills got a freekick which was hit by Elias Lowe. Garth Eason showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jasper McCormick, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Jasper McCormick might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Garth Eason. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jasper McCormick ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 66th minute, Elias Lowe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 73 minutes, Freddie Vargas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Red Hill FC and the Vernon Hills players grew even worse after the yellow card. Freddie Vargas kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Leonardo Browning showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Todd Carmona in the 75th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 76 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Jasper McCormick sped through Vernon Hills's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Garth Eason. Garth Eason took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jasper McCormick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jasper McCormick in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Garth Eason prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jasper McCormick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Garth Eason tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Jasper McCormick's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Garth Eason was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. Red Hill FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
