After 8 minutes, Florian Rushing mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the West Bishop and the Vernon Hills players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to West Bishop getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Florian Rushing hit a great ball. Elias Lowe was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 9th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elias Lowe got free with Adolfo Hoyt in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 14th minute Todd Carmona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adolfo Hoyt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adolfo Hoyt made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Elias Lowe sent off a good shot on target. In the 18th minute Quintin Crain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garth Eason saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Van Christian fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vernon Hills's protests and gave Van Christian a yellow card for diving instead. 25 minutes into the game, Todd Carmona was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vernon Hills's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave West Bishop the free kick. The supporters of West Bishop booed when Vernon Hills was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Todd Carmona didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adolfo Hoyt was a little too slow when Elias Lowe got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 27th minute. The score was now 1-0. A collision led to West Bishop getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Elliot Franklin hit a great ball. Adolfo Hoyt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Todd Carmona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. West Bishop's Brice Alford got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Garth Eason stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Quintin Crain's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wade Powell got free with Adolfo Hoyt in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Adolfo Hoyt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elias Lowe in the 53rd minute of the match. West Bishop's supporters rose to their feet, but Brice Alford was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Garth Eason breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wade Powell kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Vernon Hills fans cheered their team off the field, for while West Bishop had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
