The Los Angeles FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Wallace McConnell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Shawn Diamond, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Benedict Cottrell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Angeles FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Benedict Cottrell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alex Pearson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shawn Diamond in the 20th minute of play forced Los Angeles FC's goalkeeper Wallace McConnell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wallace McConnell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shawn Diamond in the 24th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Brainerd FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Toby Cavazos fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. An unexpected shot in the 33rd minute by Antony Haas got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Brainerd FC were furious when Errol Harmon was red carded, 38 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. When the match had been going on for 40 minutes, Los Angeles FC's Benedict Cottrell got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Alex Pearson. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Shawn Diamond made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Toby Cavazos in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alex Pearson saved Brainerd FC from getting behind. In the 58th minute, Benedict Cottrell ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alex Pearson was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Shawn Diamond hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Toby Cavazos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Alex Pearson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Los Angeles FC fans' excitement grew in the 67th match minute when Los Angeles FC's Toby Cavazos looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After having played for 71 minutes, Jackson McGrath managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brainerd FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jackson McGrath was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 73 played minutes Brainerd FC got a freekick which was hit by Everett Slater. In the 80th minute, Jackson McGrath got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 88 minutes into the match, Brainerd FC's Cobi Wray sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wallace McConnell narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
