In the 11th minute Rich Rossi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ediberto Messias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ediberto Messias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bart Wyatt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Holmes Beach's zone, Bart Wyatt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ediberto Messias came out of the goal and Bart Wyatt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Rickie Love managed to get in a good position for a shot. Holmes Beach's supporters rose to their feet, but Rickie Love was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Phillip Quintana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Red Dragons getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Clinton Brownell hit a great ball. 24 minutes into the match, Red Dragons's goal looked a bit too open when Billy Reeves came free, but Phillip Quintana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rickie Love in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Phillip Quintana prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bart Wyatt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ediberto Messias having to interfere. A collision led to Holmes Beach getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Billy Reeves hit a great ball. The Red Dragons fans' excitement grew in the 39th match minute when Red Dragons's Jayson Faulk looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 44 minutes into the game, Rickie Love recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Phillip Quintana. Rickie Love showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rickie Love was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Thad Fisher managed to get in a good position for a shot. Red Dragons's supporters rose to their feet, but Thad Fisher was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ediberto Messias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 53rd minute, Dennis Spivey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 56 minutes into the match, Red Dragons's goal looked a bit too open when Rickie Love came free, but Phillip Quintana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ediberto Messias stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jayson Faulk's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. Phillip Quintana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rickie Love in the 68th minute of the match. Bart Wyatt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Ediberto Messias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 75 minutes into the match, Holmes Beach's goalkeeper Ediberto Messias had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bart Wyatt. The Holmes Beach fans cheered their team off the field, for while Red Dragons had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
