Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Casey Whitfield made the kick off and thus started the match. Washburn FC's Isaiah Grove played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rory Bryant in the 4th minute of play. If Rory Bryant had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Washburn FC's goalkeeper Isaiah Grove, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Duane Glenn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudio Engel having to interfere. Casey Whitfield recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Casey Whitfield scored 0-2 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Claudio Engel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 20 minutes, Rory Bryant mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SCU Torreense and the Washburn FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rory Bryant hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, SCU Torreense's Isaiah Grove threw himself towards the right post 23 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rory Bryant, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Duane Glenn came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Washburn FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Duane Glenn couldn't finish the play. Casey Whitfield might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Claudio Engel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Casey Whitfield ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Richie Carver during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 28th minute, Richie Carver hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 29 minutes into the match, Washburn FC's Casey Whitfield sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Claudio Engel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Rory Bryant had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Duane Glenn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Washburn FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Duane Glenn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudio Engel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Casey Whitfield came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Washburn FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Casey Whitfield couldn't finish the play. After the first half Washburn FC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rory Bryant was the one to do the kick off. Isaiah Grove made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rory Bryant in the 52nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flint Corley in the 56th minute of play forced Washburn FC's goalkeeper Isaiah Grove to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 68 minutes, the score became 1-4 when Casey Whitfield sped through SCU Torreense's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Claudio Engel. After 72 played minutes Casey Whitfield could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 1-5 into the left cross. 78 minutes into the match, Duane Glenn had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Claudio Engel. SCU Torreense's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Duane Glenn was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-6. SCU Torreense's Claudio Engel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cliff Horner in the 83rd minute of play. In the 84th minute, Casey Whitfield left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Washburn FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-7. Casey Whitfield recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute.
