After 11 minutes, Tyrone Fitzpatrick mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Barcelona and the Washburn FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 11th match minute, FC Barcelona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tyrone Fitzpatrick to maneuver through the defense. Casey Whitfield's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Korey Marin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. A collision led to FC Barcelona getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Aldo Sorenson hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Casey Whitfield in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Korey Marin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, FC Barcelona's Benny Sherrill got a free kick in the 15th minute. In the 18thth minute of the game Casey Whitfield who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Barcelona's Korey Marin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 19 played minutes FC Barcelona got a freekick which was hit by Benny Sherrill. The supporters of FC Barcelona booed when Washburn FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Scottie Reid didn't get a good kick on the ball. Robbie Hicks kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stan Baggett in the 31st minute of play forced Washburn FC's goalkeeper Isaiah Grove to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Korey Marin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Casey Whitfield went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 40 played minutes FC Barcelona got a freekick which was hit by Jude McPherson. If Duane Glenn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stan Baggett stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Genaro McNeal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Washburn FC's zone, Genaro McNeal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isaiah Grove came out of the goal and Genaro McNeal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Casey Whitfield managed to get in a good position for a shot. Washburn FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Casey Whitfield was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Korey Marin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alonzo Donovan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Korey Marin having to interfere. 61 minutes into the match, Washburn FC's goal looked a bit too open when Genaro McNeal came free, but Isaiah Grove reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Isaiah Grove made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stan Baggett in the 68th minute of play. 69 minutes in the game, Stan Baggett dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. After 70 minutes, Duane Glenn mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Washburn FC and the FC Barcelona players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of FC Barcelona booed when Washburn FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duane Glenn didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Korey Marin managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when Washburn FC's Casey Whitfield fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Genaro McNeal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Isaiah Grove showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Genaro McNeal, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Washburn FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
