Meng Feng Wei blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vincenzo Ross having to make a save. In the 14th minute Meng Feng Wei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vincenzo Ross saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Rusty Hunt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hazardous Hornets's supporters rose to their feet, but Rusty Hunt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vincenzo Ross breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 21st minute Meng Feng Wei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vincenzo Ross saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Eddy Krueger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vincenzo Ross showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Meng Feng Wei in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 24th minute, Meng Feng Wei left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hazardous Hornets fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Xavier Gobeo during the 27th minute. Vincenzo Ross made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Meng Feng Wei in the 47th minute of play. In the 48th minute Meng Feng Wei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vincenzo Ross saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Stevie Reilly sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Heat Wave Sports's Vincenzo Ross proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Heat Wave Sports from getting a goal against them. Stevie Reilly fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laurence Sandoval having to interfere.
