Pedro Schmidt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xavier Gobeo, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Heat Wave Sports's goal looked a bit too open when Stephan Spears came free, but Vincenzo Ross reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Heat Wave Sports's Vincenzo Ross played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bennett Clayton in the 40th minute of play. Bennett Clayton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Stephan Spears managed to get in a good position for a shot. San Jose Sparrows's supporters rose to their feet, but Stephan Spears was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vincenzo Ross breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of San Jose Sparrows booed when Heat Wave Sports was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cliff Hawk didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The wind increased when Xavier Gobeo made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Xavier Gobeo notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of San Jose Sparrows's Pedro Schmidt. Pedro Schmidt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a little luck, San Jose Sparrows's Pedro Schmidt got control of the ball when Xavier Gobeo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ward Shaffer kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the match, Xavier Gobeo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedro Schmidt. Thad Hickman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vincenzo Ross having to interfere. The long shot by J.P. Kirkland in the 95th minute really tested Pedro Schmidt's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The San Jose Sparrows supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Heat Wave Sports's performance. The match ended with a win for Heat Wave Sports.
