Laurence Sandoval was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 21 played minutes Jeremias Santio rounded Hazardous Hornets's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. Logan Stevenson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laurence Sandoval having to interfere. After 32 played minutes Hazardous Hornets got a freekick which was hit by Rusty Hunt. In the 38th minute Scottie McKay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laurence Sandoval saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. New York City FC's Osvaldo Oakes got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Errol Polonia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eddy Krueger, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Jeremias Santios short, quick shot in the 46thth minute got Laurence Sandoval to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 47th match minute, Hazardous Hornets was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rusty Hunt to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jeremias Santio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jeremias Santio in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Laurence Sandoval prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 70th minute of the match Thad Connors shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Laurence Sandoval showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
