Vincenzo Ross showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kurtis Dickey in the 5th minute of the match. 9 minutes into the game, Dearborn AFC's Alfredo Draper nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vincenzo Ross made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Kurtis Dickey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kurtis Dickey struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Vincenzo Ross didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dearborn AFC. Vincenzo Ross made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Draper in the 17th minute of play. David Fontenot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kenneth Russ, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Xavier Gobeo took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised David Fontenot. David Fontenot dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Lucas Vasquez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Heat Wave Sports's Xavier Gobeo got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Alfredo Draper had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Heat Wave Sports's J.P. Kirkland got a free kick in the 41st minute. The supporters of Heat Wave Sports booed when Dearborn AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kurtis Dickey didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 44 played minutes Heat Wave Sports got a freekick which was hit by J.P. Kirkland. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When Kenneth Russ came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Heat Wave Sports fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kenneth Russ couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Dearborn AFC's Russell Ziegler got a free kick in the 55th minute. Ali Vela took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 57th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for David Fontenot. Dearborn AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Heat Wave Sports's Vincenzo Ross played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Draper in the 64th minute of play. Kurtis Dickey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Vincenzo Ross tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 82nd minute, Cyrus Guy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ernie Wallace's late challenge caught a Dearborn AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ernie Wallace helped the player get up and apologised. Ernie Wallace hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. In the 87th minute, Xavier Gobeo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Heat Wave Sports fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. When Stevie Reilly came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Heat Wave Sports fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stevie Reilly couldn't finish the play.
