Joseph Cao Xiao fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Graig Avery having to interfere. 18 minutes into the match, Smithtown's goalkeeper Oswaldo Sutton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Salvador Russo. Graig Avery showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from J.P. Watkins in the 19th minute of the match. With a little luck, Smithtown's Oswaldo Sutton got control of the ball when Ben Cornett tried to sneak it across the goal line. LHS SOCCER's Graig Avery played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joseph Cao Xiao in the 27th minute of play. After some careless play in the LHS SOCCER defense, Joseph Cao Xiao kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Graig Avery. The LHS SOCCER fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Graig Avery should have stopped the shot. Smithtown's attentive Colin Hood managed to snatch the ball when Riley Shoemaker made a throw-in in the 51st minute of the game. In the 66th minute of the match, Joseph Cao Xiao got a very nice opportunity to score, but Graig Avery was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 68 minutes into the match, LHS SOCCER's goalkeeper Graig Avery had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joseph Cao Xiao. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joseph Cao Xiao could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Graig Avery made a huge save. In the 87th minute Mike Cahill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oswaldo Sutton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 89 minutes of play, Smithtown's Joseph Cao Xiao made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Graig Avery was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 94th minute, Smithtown's J.P. Watkins ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Graig Avery. Graig Avery yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-6. The Smithtown players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
